Anton/Bauer's New Products Meet Capacity Demands of High Definition Production (20/7/2005)

Anton/Bauer introduces two key products to address the increasing power requirements of today's video production - particularly the heavy loads of high definition cameras and supporting equipment.

The NEW HyTron(tm)140 employs a special nickel metal hydride cell technology developed for the newest low emission vehicles and e-bikes. This new cell design is exclusive to Anton/Bauer for the video industry and provides a capacity improvement greater than 16% compared to the current HyTron 120. Due to the robust nature of this cell, it outperforms in applications that leave other chemistries on the sidelines. Capable of loads up to 12 amps, the new HyTron 140 is uniquely able to handle the high current demands of HD cameras fully dressed with the latest production accessories.

"Cells designed for mobile computing applications, especially lithium ion, can't handle the high loads and be practical for regular use at these power levels. However, the HyTron 140's combination of energy density and load capacity is unmatched," said Shin Minowa, Vice President of Market Development, "Then considering the ergonomics, whether an HD camera is on your shoulder or on sticks, the HyTron140 will balance the camera and lens perfectly."

The NEW QBH-HD (Quad Battery Holder - HD) complements the new HyTron 140 as another essential tool for high definition and electronic film production. By providing dual voltage outputs of 14.4 and 28.8 volts simultaneously, it bridges the power gap between HD and film production equipment. The new QBH-HD features three 14.4 volt outputs and one 28.8 volt output, capable of handling loads up to 10 amps.

"Combining any four Gold Mount(r) batteries, such as the new HyTron 140 creates the ultimate power source for any video or film production," said Shin Minowa, Vice President of Market Development, "with the ability to power film cameras, HD cameras, HMI lighting, and their accessories for extended periods of time."
