News Avid and JVC Collaborate to Enable Native Production of Progressive HDV (17/8/2006) - Avid Liquid editing software to be bundled with JVC's ProHD Camcorders in EMEA promotion - Avid Technology, Inc. today announced a limited time promotion for the EMEA territories in conjunction with JVC Professional Europe, to bundle a free copy of Avid Liquid(tm) SD and HD video editing software with JVC's ProHD camcorder models GY-HD110E and GY-HD111E. Avid Liquid 7.1 is currently the only editing software package available which works natively with 720p/25 and 720p/24 footage from JVC's HDV camcorders. The offer is available through JVC authorised resellers in the EMEA territories until 30th September 2006. "We are very excited to partner with JVC on this bundle," said Hans Venmans, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Avid. "One of the strengths of Avid Liquid has always been its ability to work with many different video formats without the need for time-consuming conversions. The fact that Avid Liquid works so well with JVC's Progressive HDV format shows our commitment to improve continuously the compatibility of our software." Avid Liquid software, which has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of £309 / Euro 459, is a powerful SD and HD video editing tool for the PC that offers integrated DVD authoring, surround sound audio processing and thousands of real-time effects. Its integrated toolset provides all of the tools needed to quickly create high-quality productions and output them to tape, DVD or web video. As the demand for high definition video productions rises, so do sales of JVC's progressive ProHD camcorders. The GY-HD110 and 111 attract the attention of video and film professionals because of their bayonet mount for interchangeable lenses, their compact design which gives high manoeuvrability and, above all, their affordability. "It can only be of huge benefit to the burgeoning world of HD when two big and well respected names in professional video join forces to deliver an HD production system that is so richly featured and yet so affordable," commented Nick Fletcher, Marketing Communications Manager at JVC. "This bundle is a great opportunity for those video producers on the cusp of moving to HD and now wishing to take their first professional steps. What better way than with Avid and JVC!"
