News DVS Spycer 1.3 Optimizes Data Management for Mac OS Users (18/3/2008) DVS is presenting version 1.3 of its Spycer(r) data management software, providing Mac OS(r) users with an intuitive content management solution. New features like job scheduler, 3D LUT preview and virtual burn-in make Spycer(r) 1.3 a convenient tool for professional content management. With Spycer(r) 1.3, DVS is presenting the latest version of its stand-alone software specifically developed for content management in data-intensive post production applications. The application for Mac OS(r), Windows(r) and Linux(r) offers numerous new features to simplify the browsing, editing and management of image data and metadata. Spycer(r) 1.3 not only offers a reliable job scheduler, new search features and an optimized preview section, but also supports formats such as QuickTime(r) and OpenEXR. To ease the everyday workload on users, the Spycer(r) 1.3 job scheduler now allows to automate time-consuming and important processes like copying or defragmenting. The scheduler performs these steps automatically at specific times or in freely selectable time intervals. Thanks to the increased diversity of graphic formats supported by Spycer(r), cutters, colorists and producers may now also access QuickTime(r) and OpenEXR files. In total, the DVS software is capable of identifying more that 100 graphic and container formats and displaying them on its integrated media player. The innovative folder search feature of Spycer(r) 1.3 now allows users to browse folders and file paths directly for specific contents. This feature further optimizes the extensive possibilities for finding and editing data with Spycer(r). Press Release: Spycer(r) 1.3 optimizes data management for Mac OS(r) users In the preview section, 3D LUTs (look-up tables) may be represented as color cubes with related parameters displayed in the header text. Virtual burn-in allows to transfer timecode, keycode and frame number information to the data used for better workflow organization. The Spycer(r) data management software developed by DVS is capable of handling extremely large volumes of image data and offers useful tools for browsing, file searches and data management. As an open system, Spycer(r) supports conventional IT infrastructures as well as DVS products. The application requires neither a central storage nor a central database to implement network-wide browsing and clip-searching features on the company network. DVS achieves these capabilities with SpycerNet, a scalable content management network that allows several applications of Spycer(r) to interact and exchange metadata. Konstantin Schinas, Product Manager for DVS, says: "We are very happy that Mac OS(r) users may now benefit from our Spycer(r) software. The optimized features provide a convenient and well-designed content management system for post production."
