Marquis Announces Availability of Medway Integration with SeaChange Broadcast Servers (27/2/2009)

Providing Broadcasters with Greater Flexibility for Building High Definition Workflows with Support for Avid DNxHD

Marquis Broadcast, specialist in broadcast workflow studies and software solutions, is announcing that its Medway media transfer and format conversion software is now available integrated with SeaChange International's Broadcast MediaLibrary 24000ex and 6000ex play-to-air storage servers. The new functionality provides SeaChange customers with a tapeless, faster than realtime solution for file transfers with Avid production systems, which is particularly effective for DNxHD workflows.

The integration enables broadcasters to create powerful tapeless HD workflows based on SeaChange's Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient play-to-air platform, where native Avid DNxHD content can be exchanged seamlessly between an Avid nonlinear postproduction environment and SeaChange ingest and playout servers without the need for transcoding as media moves between different systems.

Medway uses a simple drag and drop GUI to move media files and associated metadata between a number of different vendor platforms operating with support for a wide variety of SD and HD video formats.
