SGO teams up with HP to demonstrate Mistika’s enhanced Red workflows and Stereoscopic 3D Capabilities (24/8/2009)

SGO will be featuring Mistika at IBC 2009 on Stand C30, Hall 7 in September. SGO is proudly working together with Hewlett Packard and Red Digital Cinema this year at the show. HP will showcase their latest high performance Z800 workstation running Mistika, with Red Digital Cinema presenting their latest cameras at the show. Mistika is a powerful high-end finishing system for post and DI, supporting SD-HD-2K-4K, stereoscopic 3D and real-time RED and other data workflows.

Mistika stands out with its seamless integration between timeline-based editing, conforming, VFX, grading, restoration, infinite layer compositing and advanced stereoscopic-3D-toolset all in one unique post-production system. Its truly open architecture enables easy file-sharing with other systems, and with HP-Z800s, Mistika is fully parallel and GPU-optimised, resulting in real-time performance including colour-grading 4K DPX and RED R3D formats. Mistika also enables editing, grading and compositing direct from RED format files, natively in real-time, without importing, processing or conversion.

At IBC 2009, Mistika’s latest developments will be revealed which include its real-time RED Camera and other data workflows with grading and rescaling to 2K, HD and SD and advanced stereoscopic 3D tools for the creation and correction of stereoscopic 3D material. There will be a Mistika DI Suite at the SGO stand unveiling Mistika’s powerful stereoscopic 3D and colour grading capabilities. New unseen Stereoscopic 3D material from Brighton TV will be used to demonstrate Mistika’s unique 3D toolset. Requirements for stereoscopic 3D post production are ground-breaking and rapidly changing the rules. Mistika has adapted to changes quickly and provides an impressively reliable tool to overcome arising challenges. Traditional separate post tools for offline, conforming, online, grading to effects work no longer support stereoscopic 3D production alone. Each tool within the entire post process needs to be applied in a coordinated manner, and not separately to achieve optimum results. Mistika offers one complete solution.
