The Hollywood Post Alliance honors DVS with Engineering Excellence Award (22/12/2009)

On the cusp of its 25th anniversary, DVS celebrates yet another victory this year in recognition of CLIPSTER's cutting edge features and unparalleled strength.

At this year's HPA awards ceremony in Los Angeles, DVS accepted the prized Engineering Excellence Award for CLIPSTER's latest developments. The Hollywood Post Alliance, also known as the HPA, is a highly regarded trade association comprised of renowned Hollywood studios and distinguished technology companies such as Disney Studios and Ascent Media. The HPA committee embraced CLIPSTER(r) for its exceptional real-time feature set and proven ability to meet the demanding requirements of the post production industry. CLIPSTER's flexibility allows it to adapt perfectly to each client's needs for Digital Intermediate Finishing, 4K REDTM workflows in real time, Multi-Format Deliverables, stereoscopic capabilities and DCI Mastering. DVS's unique hardware platform and specially developed hardware accelerator allow CLIPSTER(r) to process uncompressed images up to 4K in real-time.

CLIPSTER(r) is the only system in the world to enable faster-than-real-time DCI Mastering. Both DCI Masters with stereoscopic content and secure 3D DCPs can be generated in CLIPSTER(r) in high speed. CLIPSTER's extensive feature set also includes support of various RAW formats, e.g. RED(tm) RAW, ARRIFLEX D-21's ARRIRAW and RAW material originating from the Phantom camera, and its remarkable new hardware decodes and debayers RAW data in full quality at 4K 12 bit RGB mode.

The bestowment of HPA's Engineering Excellence Award marks the third major victory for DVS in 2009. In June, DVS was honored to receive the Deluxe Outstanding Technical Achievement Award at the famous Banff World Television Festival in Canada.
