SYPHA Launches New Edition of The DAW Buyers Guide (8/9/2004)
Free access to comprehensive database of professional audio recording and editing technology
Independent consultancy and publisher SYPHA, today announced the all-new 2004/2005 edition of The DAW Buyers Guide. This can be accessed, free of charge, at http://SYPHAonline.com.
The guide has undergone a complete update. Each of the more than 300 product entries has been renewed, and the site layout has been improved.
The DAW Buyers Guide is the most comprehensive database of current professional digital audio workstation technology that exists in any medium. It covers every applicable product and all system types, including turnkey systems, desktop DAWs, audio cards/units, software packages, DAW controllers, disk-based multitracks and portable tapeless recorders.
The guide is designed to help professionals quickly locate the most suitable products via a powerful search page. A quick search can be made by manufacturer or product name, and more advanced searches by application, system type, host platform, audio quality, record and playback channels, AES31 and AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) support, and cost range.
All products are given a basic listing with web link. In many cases, a fuller specification is also available with a product shot and full contact details.
The standardised terminology and format makes for easy comparisons between products, and listings can also be printed out using a convenient print format.
SYPHA also provides a monthly newsletter, SYPHAnews, that covers general product news for the production and post production markets. Readers can subscribe free, via http://SYPHAonline.com.
Independent consultancy SYPHA has been publishing buyers guides for the professional audio and video markets since 1990.
