Desktop Images Offers Avid Editing Essentials Training DVD (5/11/2004)

Taught by Steve Bayes, a highly accomplished and former product designer for Avid Technology, this fast and easy four-part DVD training series is designed to cut months off of the Avid learning curve by providing the ultimate visual learning resource and reference guide for Avid Xpress Pro and Xpress DV as well as Avid Xpress, Media Composer, Media Adrenaline and Symphony.

This DVD also explains Avid Editing's basic features such as: project application with shot logging, batch capturing, timeline editing, cut editing, using the trim window, inserting transitions, importing music and output to tape.

Avid Workflow & Media Management - Describes ways to increase speed and efficiency by mastering Avid's powerful project & media organization and workflow tools. Users will learn how to customize the interface and timeline for specific tasks; link timeline styles to modes; explore bin and file management techniques; and locate clips and sequences quickly.

Advanced Editing Techniques - Walks users through Avid's sophisticated toolset to streamline the production process and add diversity to editorial options. Users learn how to customize source machine settings, logging while capturing, DV frame offset, audio delay and Meta data. Users will learn how to apply editing procedures for dialogue cutting, and using locators to quickly access scenes. It also provides instruction on how to add a voice over, audio effects, digital audio effects and more.

Special Effects & Color Correction - Highlights Avid's powerful image processing capabilities by exploring color correction concepts, procedures and monitor calibration, 2D digital video effects transitions and segment effects. Users learn how to apply advanced effects, keyframe and trimming techniques. This DVD also shows users how to promote 2D effects to 3D, and apply the expert render mode plus techniques for BorisFX and Automatic DUCK.

The Avid Editing Essentials series is offered for all Avid users including Xpress Pro & Xpress DV as well as Avid Xpress, Media Composer, Media Composer Adrenaline and Symphony. The DVDs also includes an English subtitle track for the Hearing Impaired, along with a subtitle track devoted to relevant keyboard shortcuts. Desktop Images' DVDs can be viewed on computer or set-top player. Viewers with DVD-ROM equipped computers can access project files and source footage along with each lesson.
