CoSTAR FieldEditor Supports German Language (10/11/2004)
Multi-lingual capabilities supported to provide new production efficiencies for German journalists and radio broadcasters
Smart Media Solutions, a leading provider of production, automation, media and asset management systems for the radio broadcast and post production industries, today announced the introduction of the German language version of its CoSTAR FieldEditor. Smart Media Solutions is also using Tonmeister to launch its new website for this product where registration of the FieldEditor, technical support and a user community will be available.
The English language version of the FieldEditor was first launched at IBC in September and creates breakthroughs for radio journalism by providing innovative audio production tools specifically designed for more advanced editing in a very straightforward and user-friendly way.
The powerful instant MPEG II Multi-Track Editor handles up to four audio tracks and offers a variety of features that have been implemented with the emphasis on reporter editing tasks in workflow and user interface. The competitive pricing of the CoSTAR FieldEditor also makes it an affordable must-have tool for freelance journalists and radio broadcasters.
The FieldEditor comes preloaded on a cool aluminium 128MB USB key allowing journalists to carry their audio material and editing tools on a small portable device that will plug in and run on any computer with a USB port and Microsoft Windows XPú installed. The editor will run straight from the USB key without the need to install the editing software first.
"We have been very excited about the FieldEditor since its launch at IBC where it was very well received by the market. The FieldEditor offers a breakthrough solution for the industry and draws on the many years of experience in developing our CoSTAR radio automation system," said Tony Henderson, chief operations officer, Smart Media Solutions. "The introduction of the German version of the key at Tonmeistertagung is proof that this market is significant to our business going forward," concluded Henderson.
The CoSTAR FieldEditor is being jointly marketed with Maycom in conjunction with the Maycom HandHeld Recorder. This allows journalists the option of storing the Editor inside the HandHeld to provide a very powerful and complete audio newsgathering solution.
