XP Sound launches the XP202 professional USB Audio Interface (24/1/2005)

XP Sound will be showcasing the new 'XP202' USB audio interface at the NAMM 2005 International Trade Show

The XP202 is a great all-round USB audio interface for Mac or Windows PC's that provides quality solutions for today's musicians, DJ's, audiophiles, and multimedia content developers alike. Perfect for musicians for use as a professional audio interface with recording applications like Cubase, Logic, Wavelab, Nuendo, and equally at home for audiophile users wishing to transfer their precious vinyl album collections to CD, the XP202 performs like no other.

With simple setup, cross platform compatibility, and a multitude of connection possibilities the XP202 USB audio interface excels in terms of features, price and performance.

- USB audio interface for Mac & PC - Two onboard mic preamps with phantom power - Stereo line input - Stereo phono preamp - Stereo headphone amplifier - Mix/balance control (balance USB audio playback and input signal for headphones) - Two parallel stereo outputs (one front, one rear)

Give your vinyl discs new life! The 'XP202' USB audio interface provides a unique solution to achieve high quality transfer of vinyl records and cassettes to PC. Because record players, tape recorders, microphones, and many other devices operate at differing audio levels, a professional audio interface like the 'XP202' is required to match levels. The built in RIAA equalizer guaranties perfect processing of the incoming pick-up signals from your turn-table and provides users an unmatched listening experience. A ground connector is provided on the front panel for connection to your turn- table.

Musicians wishing to compose and record their music will love the XP202's compact design and feature set. With outstanding AD and DA converters, two adjustable microphone pre-amps (selectable phantom power), and a pair of stereo line inputs, musicians have all the tools at their disposal. Each high quality mic preamplifier provides selectable phantom power for use with dynamic or condenser microphone signals. Instrument line level signals can be directly connected via the XP202's stereo line input on the front panel. As an added bonus, a stereo headphone power-amp is accessible from the front panel with an individual volume control and special 'mix' control. This allows users control of the monitoring balance between USB audio playback signals and the input signals from either line or mic inputs.

Being housed in a compact shielded chassis, the XP Sound 'XP202' audio interface is completely protected against distortion and interference from your PC. The unit powers directly from USB and offers easily accessible connection possibilities right on the front panel. Simply connect the included USB cable to your Mac or PC and to enjoy the benefits of professional audio on your desktop or laptop personal computer!

When Danny Olesh (Product Manager) from XP Sound was asked about the new XP202, "By developing our new USB XP202 USB version our hugely successful original XP201 interface, users no longer have to rely on the quality of their sound card for capturing audio. With high quality analog to digital converters and a direct USB connection, our customers can now experience performance and ease of connectivity at a new level" The SP202 will be available in Q2 2005 for an estimated street price of $199 USD.
